Mefford’s Fort was rebuilt from original materials to create the landmark we visit today.  A total of 25 children and three generations were raised in Mefford’s Fort.  All of the Mefford family history may be easily found in Mason County, Kentucky. The Washington Visitors Center allows multiple daily opportunities to see Mefford’s Fort on the Historic Washington Tour. 

Idea #2:  The Bluegrass Motorcycle Museum of Hartford, Kentucky. Owned and operated by Jack Embry and his wife Nancy, the displays boast over 20 vintage, American made motorcycles, and 30 years’ worth of motorcycle memorabilia.  Jack’s 1930 Harley Davidson V Model is a special display with original solo seat and color scheme.  All displays and motorcycles are absolutely rare and mostly original.
